This book prepares readers with the tools necessary to study the various classes of functional differential equations and is primarily concerned with the existence, uniqueness (not always present), and estimations for solutions to specific problems. The authors address the problems of stability, particularly for ordinary differential equations in which the theory can provide models for other classes of functional differential equations. Oscillatory properties are presented, and in addition, results of any nature that are available for the so-called neutral equations are included. There are several types of equations belonging to the class of neutral functional functions , which can be roughly defined as the class of equations that are not solved with respect to the highest order derivative involved. Topical coverage includes: an overview of the various types of functional equations; existence theory; stability; oscillatory motion; and neutral functional equations. In addition, the book's appendix introduces readers to generalized Fourier series and Fourier analysis (after periodicity and almost periodicity).
